My name is Derick Smith, I am an Irish visual artist employing a combination of painting and sculpture and have recently relocated my studio to Dublin (April 2025). The tone of my work is playful, rather than austere, as a means of engaging through an element of intrigue or surprise, and has been exhibited widely in galleries in Europe and the US with solo exhibitions in New York, Dublin, Munich, the Luan Gallery in Athlone (2022) and most recently in Kells (2023) where I created 12 site specific, large scale works for the inaugural exhibition of a repurposed chapel. My work has attracted a broad audience - 3 pieces having been acquired by the OPW (2022) - with collaborations and collectors across Europe, the US, and Middle East. On social media I have a growing audience of some 16 thousand people including fashion designers, celebrities and galleries. I am reaching out to present my work for exhibition with a view to connecting locally in Dublin.
